Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Slow day at work, and I was mulling through the Nashbar catalog, noticed their aluminum touring frameset is on sale for about $175.00.
Anyone have any experience with them? Likes? Dislikes? Always wanted to play with an aluminum frame, wondering about this one.

Sykerocker,
I brought my girlfriend one of the Nashbar frames last year and built it up. She was new to bicycling and she wanted to ride with me. I consider the frame a mid price quality. No major likes nor dislikes. It was no different than most frames you see on bikes in the $500 to $700 price range. If you are going to add components that will keep the price in that range then I say it is a good deal. However, if you want to build up a lot more expensive bike then I would buy a better frame. Why put high price component on an average frame.
One thing I like about Nashbar, you can even send the frame back for a full refund even after you build it up and try it out. Nashbar is great to deal with.
If you want more info on bikes and components, gearing, and such, go to this link:

It may be some help.

Do a search of the forum because this frame has been reviewed before. Generally speaking those who have the Nashbar frame tend to like it.
