First, I'll be cross-posting this on the Recumbent and Mechanics forums.
I tried swapping out my 700x23 rear wheel/tire (from my Trek 1000) with the stock 26x1.25 that came on the 'bent to just see if it would fit - and it does. So, now I can go ahead and get a new wheel for the rear on my 'bent.
However, on the v-brake, the shoes will be about 1 to 1 1/4 inch below the rim. Any suggestions for brakes that would have enough vertical adjustment so I can leave them on when I want the fatter 26x1.26? I'd like to be able to just do a simple swap come winter bad weather and I can get studded tires in the stock tires for the 'bent.
Also, I'll want to change out the front wheel with something comparable to the 700x23 without changing the front fork. Any suggestions there? It is a 20x1.25 wheel/tire on the front. I have about 1 1/4 inch clearance between the top of the tire and the fender (which I want to keep on).
