To all you Long Island cyclists out there...
Here is a link that I think you should be aware of. The survey is fairly extensive, but I think it is definitely worthwhile. Long Island is a great place to live, but it could be a little more bicycle-friendly. This survey might make a difference. Check it out.

To quote a little bit from the site:
As part of a planning study underway to identify the needs of walkers, bicyclists, and other non-motorized transportation users on Long Island, the Long Island Non-Motorized Transportation Study (LINMTS) would like to learn about your walking and bicycling habits. The study's objective is to identify potential improvements that would help to make bicycling and walking on Long Island more attractive and more popular. Your answers to the questions will shape the actions that the plan ultimately recommends. The survey will take about ten minutes.
Sponsored by the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC) and New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), the study represents the interests and ideas of bicyclists, advocates for the disabled, mass transit, urban planners, environmentalists, traffic engineers, health care professionals, community and citizen leaders, public safety, bicycle shop owners, and even automobile interests-from both Nassau and Suffolk counties.
