Touring - Bike routes?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I was wondering if there was perhaps a resource for popular bike routes? I am specifically hoping for a nice route starting in Rome going through Umbria and Tuscany that would not take longer than 8 days or so to complete.
I imagine this is sort of a silly question, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

I like www.bikely.com and www.routeslip.com . Both these sites collect bike routes from riders worldwide and make them easy for others to search and view them. I went to the bikely site, and searched for routes using the keywords "rome umbria tuscany". That turned up several routes that look pretty nice. Wish I was there!

Thanks a lot, Bikely seems solid. If anyone has personal experience with the region and would like to recommend a specific route I'd appreciate it.

Bikely could be a lot better. Pet gripes:
- no way to see a map of all the different routes in a region. You have to click each route in turn...
- removing a large number of way points from a route is incredibly tedious
- all routes have to be linear - no optional branches, no alternate sections.
I wish there was something better.

I did a search on mapmyride.com for routes in Rome, then selected it to longest first. Maybe there is something there. Or just create your own after looking at the roads on Google Earth.
