Let me preface as I preface many of my posts, I am new to working on my bike and have no clue what i am doing. That said I have a decent repair book and have been trying to true my front wheel for like a week now. SO i know from the book to tighten the opposite spoke and loosen the other spoke. What I did not realize (until I read sheldons article because I was getting frustrated at the wheel getting worse every time I tried to change it) was that spokes are reversed because you would normally tighten them with a screwdriver and the tire off.

Ahhh Lightbulb goes off in my head!

Now if only he had a way for my VDO C3DS Wireless to not be a piece of crap. But alas that is a losing battle. Probably chalk up the $60 loss and go get something else, maybe a C2 Wired only cause I like the display and the main problem is the wireless function.

RIP Sheldon!

I don't think Sheldon can help with the VDO C3DS, but he was certainly the man for just about anything else.

Before you give up on it try this:

1. Remove the head from the handlebar.
2. Spin your wheel and hold the head close to the sensor to be sure you are getting a signal.
3. Now hold the head at verious locations on the handlebar to find a place where you are continuing to get a signal. Sometimes the fork, brake caliper, or the stem will interfere with the signal. If you're getting an intermittant signal everywhere on the handlebar, see if you can move the sensor closer.
4. When you find the "sweet spot" reinstall the head and you're good-to-go.

I'll give it a try, its supposed to be good for 5 feet away, its less than a foot from the sensor though. Plus the Cadence doesn't work at all and there really is no way to move that closer.

I've been reading up online and have found many others have had the same problem. i don't know why I didn't find these reviews BEFORE I bought it!
