Im coming to San fran bay area in 4 weeks time from Ireland, bringing my bike along with me as well. Anyone got any recomendations for cycling groups to meet up with, recommended stores and recommended routes to take want to plan my holiday now.
Also looking for accomodation, is Craigslist the best place to look??

The "Bay Area" is a pretty large area. Do you have any specific cities in mind?
There are a lot of cycling clubs out here. Are you interested in road racing? Triathlon? Mountain biking? Long distance touring? Recreational road riding?

Welcome! I had a great time on my bicycling tour in Ireland. :)
For accommodation, depends on what you are looking for. If you want a temporary rental for the 4 weeks, then yes, Craigslist is probably your best bet.

Great route descriptions, all of which are accessed from public transportation -- http://www.inl.org/bicycle/routes.html
The best source of local biking knowledge and the coolest people -- http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=235

Here is a route list of rides around the Bay area with distance and elevation gain:

If you are looking to do any organized centuries you may want to check out this site:

These are ones which you pay to ride, and there is food and sag support.
