I'm going to buy a threadless adapter, just wondering whether I should go with 1" threadless or 1 1/8" threadless. It's probably not a big deal either way, maybe you guys can suggest some stems that'll lead me one way or the other. I'm looking at the Profile Design adapter, I know that Nitto, Nashbar, Performance Bike also have adapters through searching the forums, any other suggestions?
The only stem I can really think of that makes me want a 1 inch threadless is the cinelli alter. But otherwise I would say go with 1 1/8th
just get a 1/8th inch shim
then you can use whatev stem on your threadless fork
i hateeeeeeeeee threaded

Its 1", but you can get an adapter that goes to 1" or 1 1/8", thats what I'm trying to decide.

Get 1 1/8". You'll have a vastly wider selection of stems.

i know what you are talking about i actually have a 1 1/8 shim on my stem which my fork uses a 1" threadless...
I was asking out of the curiosity of my own stupidity when i built my bike up for the first time.
But man do I love my bike (almost as much as my woman ;) )

^^ So you have a threaded headset then?

^^ One would obviously assume so from reading the original post. :)
You might as well go with the 1 to 1-1/8 adapter, but using a shim is no problem. Ritchey stems all come with adapters and they work fine.

any of you know which of the adapters fits on the headset flush, it looks like the Profile Design and the Nashbar/Performance ones taper about half an inch.
