At the end of last year we got a tandem so my 9 yo son could accompany us on some longer bike trips.
We rode it a few times just after we got it, the weather turned wintery, now we have been riding it to really get use to the tandem. We are doing a longer group ride on the first sunday in May.
I'm doing ok keeping up with my 9 yo, however i'm a 6'2" moose and my son is 4 ft something and not very beefy- so there is a great difference in our pedaling strengths. Right now the cranks are in phase,
i've heard that when the riders are of markedly different strengths it works better to have the cranks 90 degrees out of phase.
Anyone with any experience with this ?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
