I just finished up some custom ski bend aerobars. Basic stuff. Welded alu with a 55 degree bend. The deal is, these puppies are LONG. I needed them for my long arms. Got me to thinking, are there any regs as to how much extension, etc, you can have on bars in a USAT sanctioned event?

They can't exceed 5" in front of the handlebars.

Thanks, so in the case of drop handle bars and ski bend clip-ons, the top of the ski-bend can be no farther than 5" from the forward most part of road bar (not shifter)? Is this the correct way to measure them?

I've never seen a specific statistic with regard to USAT events. 5" in front of the brake levers sounds plausible, but I'm not sure. In any case, I've never (at least, at the podunk local sprint tri level) seen any USAT people checking bikes to make sure they are up to spec, so I'd imagine that you would be able to use them regardless.
