"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - Tour of Georgia

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

a bit off topic, but I'm sure someone can answer this...
Just how *visible* is it to your sys admin when you are streaming something like this? I was getting 400kps a bit ago and I would love to keep the coverage up if only to listen to the audio while I work but I feel like i'm just asking for trouble.

depends a lot on where you work. its very visible to anyone monitoring for that type of stuff.

Its visible....... If there is an internet filtering system in place they know who the heavy talkers are and what type of traffic they are doing.

I figured. I also figure that I spend enough time on here or elsewhere that I don't need to be sucking bandwidth, too.
so.. .uhhh... who won today's stage :)?

tight.
that reminds me. in the most recent issue of bicycling magazine, there's an ad for the TU superfan or something. The picture in the mag is one that was posted here on bikeforums by the guy who was chosen as this month's(?) TU cycling team superfan. It's a picture of the BF poster w/ the cuban missile and their respective wives.

What a great weather day for the riders and fans. I enjoyed the race from the median on Liberty at the finish. Got a glimpse of most of the riders while they were recovering.
It's a shame the turnout (fans) wasn't better for the race.

thats one reason to keep WCSN going till May... Nice. But I would be pissed if I had to wait for two weeks for on demand coverage or till VS shows its 1 hr show..

Team United is at the front, but Dominguez is sitting in the middle of the peloton, why would he not be at te very end of the pace line taking it easy and away from trouble???

Hahahaha, I was riding with Dominguez last Thursday, and he was saying how sh*tty his legs felt and that he didn't think he was going to do well in Georgia...
...so much for that. I hope he can keep the Yellow for a while.

what the heck happened there, I swear the Team Type One guy won it, but I guess not...they wouldn't freaking replay the finish

True dat! But being a typical roadie, the first thing i think of after i hitting the deck is if my bike is ok. As soon as I regain conciousness my thoughts immediately turn to how much its gonna cost me. :D

Its a good thing this feed is free. I would not pay money for this. We may be catching up on the bike end of the pro thing, but our production values for TV coverage are waaaaay behind what the euros are doing.

Seriously. My body is covered by insurance. The bike? not so much.

Really?
Mine (bike, that is) falls under my home owners insurance. And when the bike is on the car my car insurance covers my bike.

i guess im not a roadie because in my crashes ive been much more concerned with my body than my bike.

That just means your probably a bit more human than some of us.
Not necessarily a bad thing.

Yeah but my insurance covers me in a crash. Homeowners/auto insurance doesn't cover the bike if I slide out in a turn or get crashed by some non-BF reading n00b.
