Framebuilders - Native materials a modest proposal.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have seen some very interesting Bamboo bikes here under framebuilders but here in the midwest bamboo does not grow. What we have are trees and this time of year the power company/phone co ,is trimming .There is lots of frame material out there for the taking and wood frame bicycles have been done before during the first bike boom.Is a lightbulb going on?:)

I forgot the disclaimer as follows."Wood needs to be cured for optimal strength and lightness watch out for Japanese longhorn beetles, consult local woodworker/framebuilder for guidance"( note should be read quickly for disclaimer effect)
