General Cycling Discussion - The bright side of high gas prices!

I live in beautiful Sonoma County which I have ridden many times. If one thing I like about high gas prices is there are no more luxurious SUVs by the area, no more sports cars or thousand of Harleys blasting thru the twist and turns of hills and valleys.

At the beginning I felt strange riding on my bike as I was used to the constant passing by of muscle diesel trucks and huge campers, and then all of a sudden it clicked. At an average of $4.00 per gallon many do not drive anymore as tourists leaving the pristine hills all for myself. :D

Nice - it may only last as long as the coming sales boom in economy sized cars/trucks/vans.

I dont know...I took my '70 Corvette out Saturday and Sunday.

I was on a country road 2 weekends ago and went about an hour without seeing a vehicle. I was only about 20 miles out of the city.

It's got to be your imagination. The reason gas prices are so high, and still climbing, is people aren't cutting back. The demand has dropped only slightly since a $.60 price increase

You're not making car payments, which would kill me right now. I just paid off a new drivetrain for my Honda Odyssey and don't plan to by anything new anytime soon.

The reason is limited supply and ever growing demand- particularly in Asia.
