Introductions - Yeah Mon'

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Greetings fom Sunny Jamaica....
I'm 44..been riding for about 7 years...started mountain biking and ditched it for the road about 3 years ago...I currently ride a Guru Geneo/Dura Ace....Just found this site while searching for training advice prior to taking a touring trip this summer.

Hello Deputy, what is the riding like in Jamaica? And, most importantly, do you have photos? I can't remember if we have any other members in Jamaica, but I don't think I've seen bikey photos!
Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) !

Welcome.
There are DOZENS of Jamaican riders here in Fort Lauderdale FL. =)
Some of the best riders I have ever seen.
Thanks for the welcome....I don't have much to compare the riding here to as I have never ridden outside Jamaica....The roads are a bit on the rough side with quite a few potholes but it does keep you alert :) Alot of hills which I quite like....but most really beat you up on the decent....There is a relatively new highway on the north coast between Ocho Rios and Negril which is awesome...not one pothole and smooth as silk...some nice views also...That about sums up our rides...
I'm doing the Mediterranean Alps Tour. Nice up through the Ubaye Valley back to Nice...I know we do alot of hills here but i'm not sure what were going to be up against, so any suggestions will be appreciated..
Thanks again for the welcome and look forward to spending alot of time here..

The tour sounds lovely! Check in with the Touring forum, there's sure to be someone who's actually done a similar tour, and who can give you better advice than I can :D .
