The cartridges bit the dust in my IRO hub. I tried removing the axle/cartridges. What am I doing wrong. I whacked out the axle...I'm going to replace the axle because it had been bent for sometime now.

Where besides IRO can I order all the parts. How do I install the axle/bearings? My understanding is I whack it with a socket that fits around the cartridge but slightly bigger.

I am going to need all the nuts washers/axle etc...is IRO the best place to get all the parts? Does IRO sell the SKF bearings...Whhaaaaaaaaaa!!! poor me. I want my fixed gear back.

get a new axle from Tony at IRO. Last time I asked it was $20 for the whole axle+bearings+spacers+locknut kit. Harris Cyclery also stocks axles separately.

Also, your LBS should be able to get you Phil Wood bearings that will fit perfectly for about $10 per hub. I think they are 6000 series bearings. Bam, you have a poor mans phil wood hub. Just my .02
