OK So I know all about the red/blue star deals, but I've just noticed some eagle/Sheldon Brown helmet mascot-like image on some peoples 'status' line... what's that all about?

Welcome to Foo. The eagle is known as an Igor and is to denote members who have participated in, given to a charity ride.

That eagle is indeed Igor, the mascot worn by Sheldon Brown.

It signifies that the person with the Igor has made a charitable contribution, either in money, or perhaps riding in a charity ride.

Members requested a way to keep Sheldon's memory alive, and to honour his memory, and this is what Brian and IB came up with. IB does not receive any money for the Igor.

Cool - that's awesome. I have and will be participating in more this year (June 1st Ride for Heart I think is my first this year).

Great to know there's a way to honour the late great Sheldon.
