Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello from rainland (Olympia, Wa): mainly a commuter, 4 miles each way but with home & back for lunch I can log 16 miles daily. If weather gets really windy or icy I'll drive part or all the way in. A bonus is our state has a commute trip reduction plan that pays $2.00 a day for cycling, walking, bus, carpool. I have about a dozen bikes from the 70s & 80s & 90s (many picked up at local thrift stores, yard sales & swap meets) The really nice ones only see the road in good weather which means my "rain bikes" get ridden more often! I tried to attach a photo of my Bianchi Trofeo, the frame came from last years Seattle swap meet & I built it up with early Shimano brakeset & derailleurs, Mavic hubs, Araya semi-aero rims, SunTour Cyclone crankset & barcons, Gomitalia tires, Gippieme leather saddle.

Hi,
man, I thought I was doing well to have two bikes. I can't do all that computer stuff either. Welcome, looking forward to seeing your stable.
Welcome ollo_ollo.
I attended high school in Olympia. :)
"OHS our school so dear..."
I didn't have a bike and walked to school every day, rain or whatever. :(
If you want to attach a picture, use the "Manage Attachments" link at the bottom of the reply page.
