Tour of Georgia is going to have one this week. I think the TTT is the best thing cycling has going for it.

Hi Asian,

Jaxgtr is right. Stage 4 of the Tour of Georgia is a TTT. Its being held in "Road Atlanta", a Grand Prix track. Should be very interesting.

Since this is going to be a looped track race there is the possibility of a team drafting off from another. Will there be rules against this and will there be a staggered start as in the individual TT. I have never seen a team TT and I find this interesting. I think the TTT is just what a race like this needs to make it more exciting.

It should be interesting. I would think there would be something about drafting. I so wish every stage race had this. The TTT they had at the TdF when Zabriskie fell was awesome.

There will only be two teams on the track at a time so i don't think drafting will come into it. It will be interesting to see a TTT with no aero equipment though.

I just read some stuff from Velo news on stage 4 TTT. With only two teams on the track at a time I guess drafting off the other team was not an issue. I noticed that the average speed was about 3-4 mph slower than typical TDF TT stages. Was this because of the short steep section or more because of the standard bikes.

Zabriskie and Slipstream were awesome. This puts Dave into third place overall and I wonder if he will try to pull out the stops on the climbing stages. In the Tour of California he showed that he can climb better than we all thought that he could based on his TDF mountain stages. The weekend will be interesting.

The whole freakin' course is vertical, save for the short front straight. Non-climbers fall off the group quickly, so the groups are small and thus slower. It's also quite twisty, which is why they disallowed the "funny bikes".

Best viewing, too. Everybody goes by four times. Unfortunately the announcers were hyped up like they'd gotten into the meth, but neglected to keep us up on the standings.

Turning off the home straight, you can see just how steep the bridge climb is, but it's hardly the longest climb on the course.

On the other side of the circuit, looking up into the Esses. It looks like it's all downhill, but Team Symmetrics has just crested another climb. (See how the road disappears behind support vehicles?)

Team High Road (2nd place) on the long climb above the bridge.
