Green Honda CR-V. Mini-SUV, styled similar to the smaller Lexus SUVs.

EDIT: I love the vehicle now that I am over the initial jitters of the expense and swapped it for a color (silver w/a darker grey interior) more suited to my cycling activities.

Definitely a chick vehicle. The minivan of the current decade.

Sort of a chick car. The good news is that it can be fixed. Some intelligent styling modifications can make it a very different vehicle; start doing research.

For starters, I saw this lightly modified CRV at the 2007 SEMA show. It looked great:

I think all this car has on it is custom air dam, custom grill, custom wheels, window tint, rear spoiler, exhaust treatment. Some butch sports racks on the roof might help, too.

yup. girly.

Could have been worse , ya could have bought a rav4. Girly and fugly!

But I'm one to talk. I drive a Pacifica. Mind you it's black and my friends say it looks like the Cadillac SUV.

That's usually when you are driving a 15 year old pickup with dents on all four corners and a cracked windshield, not a vehicle that soccer moms cart the kids around in!:p;):D

Hey who cares what others think? Go with your first instinct! When I bought a Subaru Outback years ago, several people said to me, "boy that's a conservative car you bought." But when I went up to Tahoe to go snowboarding, Subarus were the cool cars. Your CR-V is cool in some crowd, you just gotta find it, like uh... there's gotta be some scene where you fit in... uh... oh I know, the soccer mom set at the local park! http://media.scout.com/media/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

Edit: Dang it cycle17, you brought up soccer mom while I was composing!

But look on the bright side, the CR-V is pretty cute.

Depends on the chick. Depends on the car.

In your cars case, "cute car"

I know it's probably amusing to read but I am really feeling pretty sh!tty right about now.

Dude, if the car fits your needs, there's nothing to worry about. If you have a nice new car, no one really cares what it is. People are making fun of you because of your insecurity, not because of the car itself.

I got a dark green 95 ford aerostar.

What it amounts to is a big green box I can fill with bikes and parts that has over 209,000 miles on it and a V-6 you can't kill.

The paint is crap, bits of bodywork are missing, and it's been named "The Green Turd", and best of all, it could blow up tomorrow and I wouldn't care, the gf would be in a bind since it's her ride to work, but that's not my problem.

Best car I ever had was a 1973 Chevy Malibu that I drove for years, it only had brakes on one wheel that, as a coincidence, was the only tire that actually had any tread on it.

It didn't have one square inch of straight sheet metal on it but it had an engine that wouldn't die, one of those 283 small-blocks.

I had to take it off the road though, after getting nabbed for one of those surprise roadside inspection things the cops sometimes run, all it passed on was all of the lights worked and none of the windows were broken... I miss that car.

Could be. :o

If it will make you feel any better -- a friend of mine got a Lexus RX350. i thought it was for his wife. He got it for himself. Said he wanted an SUV for when he goes up to the north Georgia mountains.

Too often a person's choice of a "vehicle" is an indication of his/her ________ _______. (fill in the blanks)

Um, yeah. It's a chick car. BUT... if you want something comfy & practical, and NOT a pickup truck, you're pretty much stuck with getting a "chick car". It's not all bad though. You could have a chick car and still not have room to haul your bikes.

:roflmao: Love this thread ... and very educational I must say. I'll make sure I run my next potential car purchase by this board to make sure I'm not buying a chick car. Couldn't imagine being stuck with one for 5 years or so when you could avoid making the wrong decision by running it by Foo first ;)

Not if you have the correct bumper stickers. (Nascar, Smith & Wesson, the chrome Jesus fish, and a few others will save your neck) BTW, all I have is a PTA sticker for my son's school. I tend to stay away from tall trees or people with ropes.

I drove a Windstar until it got hit by a ditch, and it's not a mini-van, it is a compact MAN-VAN,

Any way to the OP, there is only one thing that will transform your vehicle in to something manly, Camo Paint. (http://www.therangerstation.com/Magazine/May06/Cheap_Camo_Paint.htm)

probably a wise move.
Not really needing to see a hog tied Jsharr swinging from an oak, hanging over some girly car.

Have you thought about putting some brahma horns on it as a hood ornament?

Had to remove it, they would not let me in the carpool lane to drop the boys off at school. It is there on weekends though. During the week, I let the dog play with it in the back yard. She gives it added character. She is quite the bohemian.

The Freestyle is a labeled by Ford as a "cross over" SUV. I think it helped me to cross over to driving a chick car or station wagon, depending on which angle you view it from.

I had no choice. All cars in Texas have longhorn hood ornaments and pearl handled Colt six shooters or chrome horse shoes as door handles. State law.
