Classic & Vintage - 1968 Dunelt

My dad has a 1968 Dunelt, in good working condition (note the pic below is not his actual bike, I have yet to get over there and snap one, this is the women's version). However, I've had a heck of a time finding anything about this bicycle online.

I'm insisting he keep it, 1) because its awesome. lots of sentimental value. and 2) because its likely a part of what little inheritance is left for me, considering he just spent a good chunk of it on his new ride: a segway (which I do not want!). Ha, ha.

But seriously, despite the sentimental value, can anyone give me a ballpark on the dollar value?

those bikes are essentially Raleigh Sports models. I just sold one today a Phillips in amazingly great shape for 225.00. they aren't that valuable however they are incredible bikes. they are fairly common. nice ones are worth more $. 23" ones are worth more 300 tops though

My younger daughter's road ride is this Dunelt that belonged to my grandmother.

those bikes are essentially Raleigh Sports models. "Sports" model Raleighs had some upgraded equipment, such as Westrick rims. I've never seen a Dunelt 3 speed that wasn't a low end version.

So, it must be a pretty common bike, then?By '68 Raleigh had several "Second tier" brands, Dunelt, Robin Hood, Triumph, Phillips to name a few. Usually the only difference was the name on the downtube. Here in the Twin Cities, I seem to see more Dunelts than the other names.

He hasn't ridden it in several years, not sure he could especially for that kind of distance (hence the purchase of his new toy, the segway) but it the event sounds like like great fun!
