Southern California - Any riding suggestions in Sequoia National Forest?

I'll be in Fresno on business in a few weeks and figured I could make a weekend out of it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Watch out for cars and bring some low gears. And a camera.

I would ride the Yosemite Valley, one of the most spectacular rides on earth, or Cedar Grove in Kings Canyon. Neither ride is in Sequoia but easily driven to from Fresno. Sequoia is closer to Visalia. when I am in Fresno I usually do a ride on Saturdays starting at Shaw and Academy. You head up into the foothills towards Shaver Lake. Take Watts Valley road to Pitman Hill road and you get to a place called Humphries Station. Then take Tollhouse road up to Tollhouse. I think that will be about 50 miles round trip. You will see lots of locals at Humphries Station. You can also ride Millerton road, Friant road, and Auberry road in the same area. I would stay off 168.

Haven't ridden in the Forest, however I spend a week in the closeby foothills each August not too far from Reedly/Sanger. There is some nice riding up there near the lakes.
As to the park, watch for traffic. It gets pretty busy.

I have always wanted to explore Converse Basin myself in Sequoia National Forest and see the Boole trees. I have heard it's an amazing area and not too heavily visited. There are old logging roads to ride on.

But since I have not been there yet myself that's about all I have to say...

There is some fantastic singletrack in the Sierras. Ditch the skinny tires and go fat.

The staff at the bike shops in Visalia were always cool when I walked in. Maybe you could give them a ring?

I would love to do the climb from the park entrance to General Sherman. Now that's a climb!

I'll stick to the road. Getting lost on the MTB trails here in OC wouldn't be so much of a problem. That's not true up in a real forest, though.
