Hello all,

I just received my Allez in the mail and put it together, and I'm not sure how to treat the carbon seat post.

Is it proper to treat it like a regular post and just wrench it down hard, or are there any torque issues I need to be concerned with?

Thanks,

ehenz

My LBS suggested tightening "just a bit" after it makes contact with the post, in order to avoid crushing the carbon from impact. You definitely don't want to squeeze it too tight, but of course you do want it to hold you. Maybe someone will have a more specific guideline.

I hope so, lol. :D

I hope it is not too late, when I tightend it, I heard a little cracking sound (I know that is not good), I backed it out and it looked okay, just not sure how tight it should be (hand tight, use my wrist, forearm, shoulder).

Advice to me was really get ALL the grease out of the tube and spray hairspray on post.Mine is only about a quarter less turn to get it tight enough.
