I don't have experience with Surly Wool Jerseys, but I do use technical, very light, pure merino wool T's and long zipped T's from Driza Bone and Wilderness Wear and find them excellent. I would imagine a wool jersey designed specifically for cycling would be terrific.

I have one, it is a nice jersey fits true to size, kind of light weight. The only issue I have with it is the seams on the shoulders aren't sewn very well, I am in the process of having mine repaired for the second time in about a year. Overall not a bad jersey, but there are better wool jerseys available that hold up better and cost less. Try the one form New Belgium Brewery http://shop.newbelgium.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=BJ

I've had the New Belgium one for a couple years. Mine doesn't have pockets in the back...not sure if they do now or not. It's a great jersey that has held up well to on and off-bike use. I also have a Dirt Rag one that is great. It has pockets. I forget who they were made by.

tcsmedes...just curious about the shoulder seams...do you use a messenger bag or backpack?
