Seems like a bidding frenzy:
Good grief, I have some of that exact same tape in my parts drawer!

Couldn't give that stuff away 10 years ago.

That's crazy. There are guys selling that stuff on eBay now for $5. Definitely some emotional bidding going on, there.

Wow! If I could get $45 for every roll of Benotto cello tape that was donated to my shop a while ago, then I would seriously be a millionaire.
How weird is that! I would not pay more than $3 for it...and an ugly color too!
Luckily my current bike's tape job (also done with the same exact benotto cello tape, but blue) has held up for about 20 years. The trick is to start from the bottom, btw.
I can get hundreds of them, all colors for 5 dlls.

I always liked that yellow on a blue bike. I'm with you the rest of the way, though.

I have yellow Benotto tape on one of my road bikes that I bought recently for $1. Maybe I need to take it off and sell it on Ebay.

eBay is such a stupid, corrupted crapshoot. Ptui! I f*rt in its general direction.
