I've been keeping the camera in my riding jacket pocket and just shooting pics of everything I see while on my bicycle. A few...

Great stuff Gonesh.... What's going on with that pic with mosaic seat / bicycle and light? Was any of them directly related to that drunk frog?

It is a monument/shrine for a cyclist that was killed. People leave all sorts of bicycle paraphanalia there. Truly a beautiful piece of Portland's cycling culture.

I think the drunk frog had something to do with the police car :p

Nice pics gonesh9. The pic I like most is the on with the white bike in front of the stairs. It gets me wondering...where does the stairs lead? Who left the bike there and what´s he doing now?

Keep posting pics.

Interesting pictures....although somewhat shake-shake. Do you take them while you ride? What camera so you use. Just curious.

Yeah, I'm still learning...Mostly I take pictures at night when it is dark, while I am moving on my bike, so the pictures gain different effects. I actually like them better than when I use a faster shutter speed with a flash. What do you think the right settings would be for good pictures at night while moving? It's a Canon A70, which allows you to adjust aperture, exposure, flash output, ISO speed, and shutter speed seperately.

Gonesh9 I would start by using somewhat faster film - what are you using? I would suggest a film with an iso rating of at least 400.It should do just fine, and the price is no more that regular film. Faster film is available, but at a price, plus most outlets usually blunder when developing these.

I would suggest further that you use the apeture priority setting on your camera. For night photography you could select the widest apeture possible (3.4 perhaps, depending on the lens), this will result in the camera selecting the fastest shutterspeed for the conditions.

For shutterspeeds of 60, or lower, you need a tripod, or anything for that matter to hold you camera still. I do not suggest you try this while on the bike... :D

Always carry a flash for use at night or day. I use my flashgun during the day a lot to neutralize any annoying shadows on peoples faces.

If you camera allows TTL flashguns it should automaticaly select the neccesary settings

Lastly experiment as much as you can with different settings - but try and remember what settings you used for what given picture. This way you will learn what works on your camera, and what does not

Happy snapping

Gonesh9 I thought I'll send in one of my pictures. This was taken at a live concert and I had to crawl to underneath the drumkit. Good thing I know the drummer...

I used a Nikon D100. The image has been comprimised due to the fact that I had to shrink it from a 17mb tiff image to 50kb jpeg!!
