I know you just lost a bike and all but come on, never let someone you don't know ride your bike. Hell, I don't even let people I do know ride my bike.

x2. Hope you find your bike and the dude who stole it so you can send him to jail!
So what was the deal with the keys? Did they not fit the car or what?

The description you gave of the guy is hilarious. I would never even talk to someone like that.

uh yeah...wtf man. I'm just saying, that if they look like someone that stereotypes say like to steal ****, I would assume it would be a good idea not to let them touch your ****. stereotypes exist for a reason, not because they are 100% true, but certain people have been observed doing things on more than one occasion, thus becoming a stereotype.
at least you got some keys out of the trade, right?
sorry about the loss of your bike.

Ok, lets all band together and think of negative things to say about his bike. That way he'll feel less bad about losing it.

I'm also curious about the car keys... Did they just not fit the car door, and he pretended to turn the lock?

You really seem pretty butthurt about something. I'm still kind of curious why you keep coming back here.
To the OP, good luck getting it back. And add me to the list of people who want to know what's up with the keys.

anybody that wears those scarface shirts is automatically walked passed.
and I have a friend that has one of those shirts...i ignore him when he wears it
it sounds like dude was a little intimidated and thats why he probably let things go a little further than it should have
ouch... sorry to hear about your loss, I won't point out anything you don't already know about the whole situation... regardless it really sucks.

I've had a couple shady-looking people ask me if they could try my bike. I just direct them to whatever nearby bike shop I can think of.
Also, I think I recognize the building in the first picture w/ the bike hanging. If that's Roebling St, I live directly across from that.

In other news... our club just started the Green Bike project on campus. All those bikes are NOW green. Im sure I could... acquire one for you. Hahahaha. They're all crappy tho. Trust me.

you were being nice, as a person should, it's not your fault the guys a dick, no blame goes to you, read the blog too, i don't think the religious tattoos he has really mean anything to him.
good luck with a new bike
oh, the naive world of bikeforums... in the future for those who don't know, they should keep in mind that those sound suspiciously like prison tattoos.
if you live in a city, particularly NY, don't worry about being nice, be jaded and suspicious like a good city-dweller should.
stereotypes exist for a reason,
stereotypes= time savers.
to the OP, already posted on your blog, but again good luck finding it. and sorry it happened.

I too wonder. Then again wroomwroomoops was here a long time and rarely was anyone nice to him. I actually miss that guy. Being opinionated is okay. Extra a-holey, not okay.

This guy should just be f***ing shot. Wouldn't the world be a little better if that guy was dead? Seriously. People can't leave their god damn bikes alone for 2 seconds without them getting taken and no one can EVER be trusted. This sh** gets old after a while. Everyday I come out of class I wonder/hope that my bike is still there.
Congratulations (I guess?) on making it on BSNYC

Did I say something bad? I only said that based on what people here have said about previous stolen bikes. I remember some guy posted a pic of his bike on BF saying that it was stolen, then you guys start ripping on it and saying how it was a piece of **** bike anyway.
I was just playing around. You guys are so serious all the time :/

I thought it was funny. Regardless of whether or not the bike is actually nice, it'd be funny to make him feel better about losing it by convincing him it was ****. You know, like when a girl breaks up with you, your buddies come in and say "yeah, she was a ***** anyways!"

Well, the internet is Seereeus Biznass.
You've obviously yet to read the BFSSFG Rules of Hypocrisy. They clearly state that I can say whatever I please and you (it just says 'you', don't take it personal) will be ridiculed for all you dare to utter. Here's a link to it (www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBGIQ7ZuuiU).
Oh and that last dudes bike was a Schwinn Boat Anchor, err, Varsity.

people around here that look like what you described dont know how to ride track bikes. so even if they lift it from me he's getting bucked and will eat **** when he can't stop. i sorta want it to happen so i can have an excuse to beat someone with a u-lock.

Give me a call when it goes down, I can be there in ten minutes.
Careful, this could lead to. . .
Stereotypes = sad tarck kids on foot.
what are the chances of him finding it on CL painted an ugly color and he and his buddies confront the thief in a super market parking lot. great here goes another two weeks of my life wasted.
if the OP didn't let the guy take it for a ride, chances were that the guy was gonna clock the bike owner to get it! carry a box cutter and don't hesitate to slice your enemy.

we've yet to see an explanation about this "key" thing that the OP so readily gave his bike up for.

Speaking of Earth day, on my campus a bunch of hippies got naked and painted each other green then rode around the university. Kinda beats getting your bike stolen.

oh man, i would wait outside that place every single day for that guy to show up again and crush his face.
my friend jason in vegas had this same thing happen. he actually chased the guy and caught up to him. the thief obviously wasnt fully prepared for the fixed gear and clipless pedals. anyway, the dude pulled a knife on my friend in the middle of traffic. jason, being the awesome dude he is (very well trained mixed martial artist) pulled a bic ballpoint out of his pocket and stabbed the guy twice in the neck. the police and all the witnesses said he was justified in doing so. anyway...sucks about your bike. pretty recognizable though fortunately. hope you get it back.
