Classic & Vintage - i need some help with my bike

i just recently bought a vintage Guerciotti on ebay. the bike and the components are in awesome shape, for the most part. everything works perfectly, all the details are great. there's only a few minor problems.
i want to restore this bike to its pristine state, but i don't know how to do that, where to find parts, and i don't even know what year/model my bike is.
its got a few rust spots and a couple paint chips, no dents though. the chrome on the chain stay is either coming off or is dirty (i don't know anything about chrome). the brake levers are scuffed up a bit, as is the seat post. the decals could probably be replaced because of some scratches, but they still look really nice.
its got a full Gipiemme crono sprint group set, except the shifters are campy for some reason. its got cinelli bars and stem. i know guerciotti forks, stems, and seat posts exist but i can't find any others than ones on complete bikes.
so could anyone help me identify this bike, find the parts i need or tell me how to go about removing rust, restoring the paint job and the chrome?

Maybe the bike doesn't look quite as nice up-close, but from the shot you have there, all I see it needing is a replacement saddle, and possibly chainrings and headset.

Stunning look to that bike. It also looks a bit older to my eye than the
Guerciottis that 10 speed Drive used to import.
I would clean it up but leave it as is, its worth much more with the
original patina than repainted/decaled

Hi that kid kris, I have to agree with everyone else, the bike looks to be in pretty good shape already, except for the saddle! Let us know what you do to her to make her look even spiffier :D .

it's all original down to the nisi rims. it had the original tubulars as well, i forget the company. but the bike was all italian.
the general consensus seemed to be just to clean and lube it and leave the rest alone. so i did that. i put some black cloth tape on and mounted new hutchinson carbon comp tubulars. i called around the area and nobody had or could find any gipiemme brake hoods. so i threw on some black dia compes just because they're a good general fit. now i have to get a black seat.
i was thinking that it was around 80-85. i think its from 83. that's my best guess. i saw two other guerciottis in the local shop, but they had cyclocross frames made by alan. the decals on them are the same as the ones on mine and every other guerciotti i've seen has different decals. so my guess is that since there are only two guerciotti's that i've seen with the same decals as mine, its probably from around the same time as those.

with only the single pair of water bottle bosses it's earlier than 83. i can't see clearly from the pic but is that a braze-on front derailleur?if so, it's most likely an 82.

fyi- campy, galli and modolo(including modolo anatomic) hoods will fit gipiemme levers perfectly.

it's a braze-on front derailleur. so i guess the best guess is 82. thanks for helping me figure out the year. and thanks for the tip on the brake hoods.

the decaling on the bike is a little off center on the seat tube, which would probably lend credence to the TSD scenario. this an interesting twist haha. but i'm going with 82.

Don't touch the paint or decals. It's only original once.

it would still almost have to be 1982 that the frameset would have been completed and painted. the scenario i envision is of a customer after lusting over the limited-edition, gold-plated, full zoot, guerciotti oro featured poster-sized in an earlier brochure asking if his own bike could be painted with the same panel graphic treatment. since the frames were all brought in unpainted , it would take little extra effort for TSD to oblige-resulting in a happy client, a happy importer, and a unique guerciotti.

hopefully i can get the digital camera i've been wanting so i can update. or mayhaps one of my roomies will let me borrow theirs. the only thing i can think to do to it is put a nice black saddle on it.
i lust over that same limited edition. having a unique guerc is probably the coolest thing that has ever happened to me. and to think i would never even have known.
