I posted this in the Road forum, but i thought i might have more luck in here...
so i just picked up this myata CT-3000:

which is basically stock with:

and from what i've figured out the rx100 is the then-105 set, and has a freewheel 7sp cluster.
now: assuming its been taken care of well, how "smooth" should this system run? how were they as new?
If i were to upgrade, would you fellas recommend getting the 7400-7401-7402 DA components and redo the whole thing like that? (drivetrain at least) if so would you recommend a 7-speed freewheel version or 8-speed cassette? im not a huge fan of the wheels, so that would take care of the freewheel -> freehub deal, although i havent had much look finding the appropriate DA freewheel hubs, so it might be nice to just hang onto the hubs for the time.
OR
should i upgrade to a current 10 speed ultegra or DA system, using new DA 10sp downtube shifters and get some kind of new wheels.
i would think that the new stuff will run better, but ive never been on 1990 DA stuff and it could pretty nice. im pretty sure since its not too old the rear spacing is 130mm and not 126, so that shouldnt matter.
also does anybody know of some good looking vintage rims or wheels if i were to get new hubs? i dont really like box section, and since the bike is all black/carbon, black might be good on the rims. thanks a lot, im looking forward to see what people think here.
