Has anyone had experience with these wheels? According to their website (http://www.statruwheels.com/), they seem to have been around for awhile...but I'm not sure as to their quality or reliability..?

Reason I ask - a local shop just fixed up a conversion single speed for my wife, and put these brand new wheels on there - alloy "alex" rims. They came with a single speed hub. No markings on it.

Also - a different shop in the area sells sets of these wheel with flip flop hubs for $80-90 bucks.

Is this too good to be true...er...tru? :)

i mean i sold a set of stock fuji track wheels for 75$... u can definately find a wheelset for cheap...

yeah, and i was looking at other wheelsets like the Kilo TT set from bikeisland.com (link (http://bikeisland.com/cgi-bin/BKTK_STOR20.cgi?Action=Details&ProdID=588)), but i wasn't sure if they'd be able to fit them in my Fuji Espress conversion (i think the rear spacing is 126mm, whereas the track wheels are usually 120mm).

the sta tru wheels seemed to fit right in and were quick release, and about 20 bucks cheaper..

I have some Alex rims on my bottom of the line OCR3...

I've hammered the F out of 'em here in Portland, and with the exception of a massive pothole that bent a sidewall (fixed with a crescent wrench) they have stayed fairly true, of course, YMMV.

Sta-tru are the standard cheep replacement wheels that shops sell. All machine made. The shop should adjust them before they send them out b/c they all need to be trued an have the cones adjusted when they come out of the box.

If they are good components, they should be good wheels. Just make sure a wheelbuilder checks them over before you ride them.
