I have a race crankset with 44T 32T 22T chain rings. I'm getting a sram 9.0 8 speed der, not really sure if it's a medium cage or a long cage. So the question is I'm trying to get a dura ace cassette and I'm not sure what measurement I should get?

Hey ,I think you will have the bases covered with the triple.I have a double crank 39-53 and run a 11-19.Not many hills in fl.

Generally, bikes with triple chainrings will have/require long cage derailleurs. Find out which cage you have, and then call SRAM 312-664-8800 to find out compatability.

You don't mention it, but since you're getting Dura-Ace, perhaps you intend to use this for a road bike application. If that is the case, then with a triple you should be fine with the smallest/tightest cassette you can get your hands on, and perhaps you can get away with a medium cage.

If it's a mtn application, you'll want a slightly wider range of gear options and will need the long cage, which will work with just about any cassette.

You didn't ask, but you might consider getting an SRAM cassette as well. Seems more likely to have the shifting line up if you stay w/the same manufacturer.

Good luck!

Why would you be using a high-end racing road bike casette with an ATB crankset? If this is for an ATB, don't waste your money on D/A-it's far too fragile and the metal is too soft for off-road usage. It would be $75 thrown away.

If you are putting it on a road bike, why on earth are you using an ATB crankset? It doesn't make any sense.

I agree with Dave. DA cassettes are designed for racing. It is silly to run one except in actual races. You can get the same cogsets in 105 or Ultegra for much less, and they will last longer. Use for training, and put on the DA for races.

yes this is for a mtb, however the only purpose i'm using a road cassette is because I'm using this bike around the city only. I don't really like riding my road bike around the city so have decided to build an additional bike to travel around the city. Thanks for all your help so far.
