Seems like getting the companies to get him parts in a timely manner was as hard as getting frames built. last night and today he said he was building his first 2 retail bikes.
Photo seesion was last night for built bikes I think.
Pretty exciting. I don't really know anything about mtn bikes, or that much about road for that matter. but he does.
I am sure that this forum has many critical views, but knowledgeable ones, too.
If nothing else maybe we can crash his website!

This is a great idea but... the website at this stage seems largely useless? Unless I'm missing something.

I was fully expecting the website to be about repainted Concepts, but those frames actually look awesome.

I can't even see the frames on the site? Just a picture of something that says coming soon and is impossible to see. Am I missing something?

I'm confused. The splash page says "handmade in portland oregon" but there's no real mention of who's doing the welding or any decent shots of the bikes. Is your friend the framebuilder?

Tell their web designer that they should stick to One font family, not 2 or 3. It makes the site cleaner and easier to read. Other than that, the navigation seems obvious and easy enough. Good work!

i wont argue that they don't. i've ridden one that creaked, and hear some anonymous internetters complain that theirs did as well but that's really not much of a comprehensive sample.

i guess i was thinking from a business standpoint. there seem to be fewer builders offering sliding dropouts and they seem to be charging more for otherwise equivalent stuff. again, just observation, not really comprehensive or scientific.

Yeah the website is out of control, first website builder he used was lame, and then he got one that is over the top. He's got some kind of new fork that he has to wait on to build up the bikes.
I think he prefers the vertical drops for disc brake fit, and also keeps you from moving the wheel in the drops when you are really pedaling hard.

I saw the bike yesterday built at the bike shop, kind of a grassroots ribbon cutting...not really, I went for a part and stumbed upon it.
Really nice looking anodized blue and green are what saw, there's a red. Pics on the internet after the weekend.
I guess the drops are forwardish so you can tire swap or fix easy. I am sure there'll be some technical info later
It had a really cool fork, a magura, that has 2 u shaped things on it for stiffness, thinkign about it and looking around the store, not even downhill forks that I saw had it.

Probably came off of some cruiser, but they're comfortable enough. Still super wide after taking like 1.5" off of the sides.

It was free, and who can resist a free frame with a speckled green/blue paint job? Not to mention that it's a pre-Trek Klein, which was one of my dream bikes when I was Oh No's age and catching rides to the shop from mom and dad.

I figure I'll ride the **** out of it, and I'll mount it on the wall when I crunch it up.

why are the tabs on the right the same as the buttons on the bottom ?

I used to laugh at how every MTB bike has discs these days but once I got a set I realized the faster you can stop the faster you can go and discs are amazing. I won't go back to Vs now.

I like discs plenty in theory, but I've got perfectly good handbuilt frames with canti bosses on them and I'm not abandoning them anytime soon.

I guess I could put discs on the monkey, but it seems happy enough with Vs.
