I am looking to find a quality powder coater/media blaster that has experience with finishing bikes. My needs are a simple single powder coat for my frameset that is durable and reasonably priced. I know Spectrum in CO. Spings does amazing work, but for this relatively simple job (the frameset is new, but not extremely valuable) I would prefer to use a company in Denver or surrounding area that has good word of mouth with a bit cheaper cost than Spectrum. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I was talking with another commuter on the train this winter and he had his FG powder coated at denver bumper. He seemed happy with it. I have yet to need this service and can not tell you if denver bumper produces a good quality product or not.

Denver Bumper. That is where I had mine done. Bullet proof job. $85.00 for everything. Just take the frame down, as is, and they'll have it done in about a week.

I've had one frame done in Longmont by a guy who says he does frames for Dean. I can't remember the name of the shop but it's on 3rd Ave. Price quotes vary between $100 and $150. He does a good job and is willing to order colors he doesn't have. He did a purple candy job for my son's bike that came out very well.

I have used Premire coatings OK job (did have a flat NATO green) Did my Rincon for $75. Using Blue Flame for my 2 tone Batavus Fixie. It is going to be Blue with white lugs. For the frame and fork with blue as the main color and white lugs it is costing me $175. Blastech is the best media blasters in town and charged me $40 for blasting of frame and fork. Do not be fooled like I was the first time. I used a lady who does tombstone to blast my rincon and oh my she must have used sand from a park. Thank the good Lord above the bike came out ok. It has that rough militry look. Use Blastech you will be pleased for your sandblasting.

Good luck with Denver Bumper. I have worked in shops for along time and have seen alot of denver bumpers paint jobs some are good some look like hell and a few trashed frames. One that looks like it got runn over by a truck before it was painted, they tried to tell the guy he must have brought it in that way . I have seen more bad than good come out of there as I will never recommend them to anyone.
