I recently purchased a new Bianchi 1885/Veloce. After putting about 15 miles on it i started to notice strange noises coming from the chainstay. I turned the bike over and sure enough i had recieved a frame with a poor weld that had CRACKED.
I quickly contacted my dealer who contacted bianchi warranty. Brent, the warranty rep was very helpful and obviously offered to replace the bike, he said they were out of frames (only had completes) and also out of celeste (my color preference). He offered to replace my bike with a complete red 1885 and told me the process would take about 2 weeks start to finish. (once again, red was a definite sacrifice for me, but ive always been loyal to bianchi)
March 6th i sent my bike off and began to wait, weeks later i contacted bianchi wondering what the holdup was. I was informed that brent "was no longer employed" and the new rep inquired about the status of the bike. From the sound of things the bike had arrived a while back but it seemed nobody at bianchi knew what to do with it. After the new rep looked into it he said the bike was inspected and found to be defective (duh) and they would be swapping the parts for a new frame. I was obviously a little taken back by the "swap" part of the deal and asked if they were going to be shipping me a red frame with my old celeste bars and seat (not a pretty color scheme). Juan(the rep) assured me they would "dig up" some white bars and a seat to match and the bike would ship out within a day or 2 at most.
So, a week or two goes by and STILL no bike, I call again and am told the bike has not yet shipped and it would ship that day for sure.
That was about a week and a half ago, I called again today, and to my surprise, was told the bike had just shipped out this morning!!
In summary, i purchased a brand new celeste bike, put less than 15 miles on it, found a crack, sent it off MARCH 6TH and it has just begun to ship back to me TODAY APRIL 23RD, (provided this is not just another lie) and the icing on the cake is that i have not recieved a single apology or attempt to make amends NOR did bianchi even bother to give me expedited shipping!!!
In short, bianchi has recieved its last penny from my pocket! I've been out $2000 for months now and have nothing to show for it but a phone bill.

Well I hope the bike comes back in new order, or better, I totally understand your frustration, They should have got you a new bike with a $200 credit for accessories or something.

Thats just plain lousy quality control....

Ouch. Do you have an email for the Bianchi rep? Please send it to me if you want me to attempt to assist you. A phone number would not be as effective, but I can give it a shot.

Thanks for the offer, but unfortunately i think the bike actually did ship out this time. The last rep i spoke with was a new one who claimed to be checking the status of the bike via fedex. It was supposed to have shipped out last wed. morning so I guess ill see here in a day or two.
I just wanna ride! haha

Makes you wonder if the old rep was the good guy and Bianchi management is the problem.

I can not believe they took so long to get it taken care of and finally when they did they messed that up.

Really Poor Bianchi!

did you ever get your bike?

Yep, after being told one last time it shipped out that day, and it was untrue...then it finally did really ship and I got it a few days later, and they neglected to swap my celeste seat and bar tape with white to match (which i was really clear about weeks before it ever shipped), so i had to call and have them send me both, luckily they got that done in about a week....

The only thing im happy about with the whole ordeal is that the red looks better in person than it did in pics, still no celeste, but not a bad looking bike

The problem i see with this story is that the shop that sold you the bike did not step up to the plate. A good shop would make sure you were 100% happy.
