Hey all. Would anyone have any good ideas for getting to Rose Bowl from Downtown LA/Hollywood?
NOT looking to grab the Gold Line.
And I would be on the road by 4:30-5AM, so I'm not as worried about traffic.
Thanks in advance!

I rode from culver city to the rosebowl last saturday.
try bikemetro.com to help you map out your ride.
Here's a link to metro's map.

There is a dedicated path for part of the way, but no contiguous route. I'd try Monterey and Los Robles, Monterey is a very wide street as I remember it. You can also use google's street view feature to look at a sampling of the route you're considering.

How about Mission to Huntington? Never done it, but it looks good on the map.

I've ridden from Old Town Pas. to work in Boyle Heights/East LA. This is a good route although instead of Figueroa stay on Pasadena Ave. When you cross Fig. it becomes Marmion Way. Follow that to Monte Vista then go right on Ave 61. You'll hit Fig just south of York. From there take Ave 64 to Colorado or San Pasqual to Arroyo. Marmion Way/Monte Vista is much better than the traffic on Fig.

I rode that into the office on a Saturday once. Mission west of I-5 was pretty rough. Think potholes the width of the entire right lane. That was a year or so ago, so it might have been fixed. Other than that, the route wasn't too bad.

If you are coming from Hollywood, you want to get to Fletcher, either via Sunset to Silver Lake to Glendale or going south on the LA River path via, say, Los Feliz...
Fletcher becomes Ave 36 which dumps you on Eagle Rock Blvd. Take that to Colorado, into Pasadena and when you reach the Suicide Bridge, bear right, go under the bridge and you are now on Linda Vista, which is Bowl-adjacent...

Amazing.
Another small tip re coming from Hollyrock:
In Eagle Rock, Colorado can be somewhat of a freeway... when heading north on Eagle Rock, a couple of blocks before Colorado is Yosemite. Take that east to Figueroa, then take Fig take north for a couple of blocks and then make a right on Colorado....
*OR*... via Yosemite, once on Fig, take yr first right on La Loma (very steep, but very quiet) and follow that to Arroyo (make a left), go under the Suicide Bridge and drop off into the Bowl.
so the ideal route (imho) from hollyweird: fletcher -> becomes ave. 36 -> eagle rock blvd. (l) -> yosemite (r) -> fig (l) la loma (r) arroyo (l)...

Thanks again. I just hate having to drive somewhere to ride, so this looks pretty good to me.
