I recently brought a carbon seat post which was 27.2mm dia and I thought I could force fit it in to my seat hole thingy so I measured it as 26.something close to 27mm, anyway after receiving it i have been measuring it again and again after I was not able to install it and realized it is only a 26mm. Damn old road bikes.

1. Do you think I should stretch the opening and force it down the tube, will that work?

2. DO you know who makes 26mm carbon tubes?

3. Why do the people of these companies make it so darn annoyingly hard for us to find parts?

Do you have a more precise measurement than "26.something?"

How long is that 27.2? If it's got some good length, I'll give you 20 bucks for it.

What kind of bike is it?
You need to fit the seatpost to the exact size of the clamp. That's why seatposts are usually sized in .2mm increments.
If your seat tube is 26.8, you will be able to find posts, but 26.0 is an uncommon size in aluminum seatposts, and probably non-existent in carbon. I doubt that whatever old frame you have would even demand a carbon seatpost. Lower your expectations...to kalloy.
