Tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday it is supposed to be at least 70 degrees in Maryland. Whoa, boy, am I gonna put some miles on Axel? You betcha! I haven't been able to go further than about 25 miles in a few weeks due to a variety of factors, but I am gonna log some major miles.

I'm going onto work early, and I do mean EARLY, tomorrow so I can leave by noon and get on the road.

Won't even need the silk. Planning on my normal summer riding attire.

Hey cool! :)

Well, I plan on going snow riding this weekend! :D High temps are supposed to be under 10F so should make for some nice powder!

Sounds like we both have plans for a great ride! ENJOY!

I could not wait until Saturday, so here is a link to my post about my snow ride!

Alas, there is no winter, just wind and now cold, snow, what's that? Cold weather riding, got it down, after a respite of wonderful windy temps in the 40s and 50s F. The wind liked to blow you over, but no snow, no rain. I'm beginning to doubt this year's predictions of a wet winter.

We've been getting unseasonably early snow here but its the wet slushy stuff. This weekend is supposed to be nice but cold. No riding planned but I will be on vacation next week up at my Friends near Mt Baker plan on some road riding ant MTB, maybe I will be lucky and the valley will get snow so I can play in it.

In Georgia it is real nice, and in the 70's. I will be on the bike as soon as I can escape from work today.

No snow out here in the Bay area. Today was chilly by SF standards (50-55 deg.) but crystal clear day. Did a 62-mile ride today with some great ocean views from Skyline Blvd. Plan on putting in around 50 on tomorrow's club ride and training for a 4-man TTT on Sunday.

Glad to hear it, Trek. Sounds like a great weekend ahead. Like Ngateguy said, we have got some unusually early snow here in the Northwest, but not enough to really effect the riding.

My girlfriend's actually heading back to Maryland for Thanksgiving with her family, so I'll be able to ride as much as I want. :D

Winter came early here this year but the good news is the skiing is fabulous! We are supposed to start warming up by tomorrow. -5C will be positively balmy compared to earlier this week.

It has been snowing around here!! I rode out of Bellingham today up north and very very fine snow was coming down, nothing much at all, but it was noticeable. Also Ice started to form in my water bottle.

I just got back from Amsterdam. It's humbling how you see far more cyclists in Amsterdam in late November than you see in Chicago in mid-June. In Chicago, I help out with events that promote winter cycling, but Amsterdammers don't need any such events; they just cycle year-round as a matter of course. Winter cycling in Amsterdam is about as normally as water is to a fish.

Sunny and low 60's in New York City, no complaints here! :)

I grew up in Colorado. I can recall once, many years ago in the late 1950's, when it warmed up to 10F after a week or so of negative numbers. We though it was summer and were actually outside in shirt-sleeves playing baseball!

Sounds about the same at my place, 8" of snow with 40 MPH winds. I was stuck at my parents place over night due to the bad road conditions. When the storm / wind finally passed, I tried to go home, but my truck wont start, I hope the engine block isn't cracked... :(

Still cold - like maybe 20F - but the sun is out and all white and gorgeous. Had to shovel a fair amount of snow off of driveway, but, believe it or not, I was outside in my shorts (just for awhile). Worked out at gym on baike for 30 minutes and treadmill for 45 minutes.

I should have realized that after not logging more than 15 miles at a time for a few weeks, and missing more than a few days, logging "major miles" would not be as easy as I would have liked.

Friday I did just about 20. Saturday, I rode to Annapolis and back via the back roads for 25, and today, I rode up to the airport, down to Severna Park and back home for just over 30 miles and my thighs are screaming.

One good thing, for the first time ever I made it up The Mother Of All Hills without having to get off and walk. This thing just keeps going up and up and up, getting steeper as you go. I was on the smallest ring and biggest cog and made it! Near the top as I was really laboring on my beast, a guy on a Cannondale R1000 went around me like I was standing still.

Learned another lessen, nothing beats a light, agile, responsive road bike for climbing.

But, it was a heck of a lot of fun.

It's mostly been in the 60s and 70s for the past few weeks but I think fall/winter is finally headed our way.
It was 26F this morning. :crash: How long is it till April?
