I don't get the sensitivity to these commercials.
Wendy's has a commercial where a driver rear ends another driver and pushes them out of the way so he can get his burger faster.
Jack in the box has a commercial where drivers get distracted by sloppy fast food and end up driving into oceans and fuel tankers.
State farm had a commercial with a driver speeding off the edge of a parking garage into a river.
Or a pizza commercial where a viking blows up a car with a flaming crossbow bolt.
These could all be argued as being "anti-car" yet you don't see the same outcry to these commercials that bikers seem to have over the two you listed.
It's not that big of a deal. Why are you wasting your time on something so trivial? Or are we all turning into geico cavemen?

I view that one as pro viking rather than anti car. :p
Anyhow, I think we are a nation composed of overly sensitive nancy boys.
..says the roadie wearing spandex with shaved legs. :D

I think there is a place for humor. Cars are the status quo and the mainstream for our society, so really these are just great bits of self depreciating humor. If cycling enjoyed the same status it would be the same thing.
There is a whole debate and discussion that could be had (and has been touched on here) about the role advertising and pop culture plays within our society on many subjects: sexuality, gender and race roles, age discrimination, perceptions of beauty and, yes, even cycling. Head down to your local college and audit a sociology 101 class.
I like the commercial and think all motorist should have to commute to work for a couple weeks each year on their kids 10 inch wheeled bike.
