Greetings,

New to the forum. Wanted to say 'hey'.
I have an older Diamond Back Response Sport from the mid-nineties, and wanted to konw if and what I have to do to change it up to a more city-oriented vehicle/cyclox wanna-be.
I was thinking of getting rid of the dampening fork, getting new wheels and tires, and maybe upgrading the components to 105's..
Or will the geometry just not allow it?

Any thoughts/recommendations?

For a bike of that age and spec, I would spend as little as you can. Buying 105 components and new wheels would probably set you back nearly as much as an entry level cross bike. Instead, buy some 26x1.5 slicks (for the city), and/or skinny knobbies (for cross), maybe get a rigid fork from somewhere, and perhaps a multi position handlebar (I like the Titec H bar, although I'm not sure it would be legal for cross), and you'll have a nice, versatile, bike.
