Foo - Best new way to waste time: The engineer in all of us

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Remember those bridges you made out of Popsicle sticks? This is kind of like the same thing, only you can do it all day long and no one will know.

My best thus far is 975 feet...

Google a game called "Armadillo Run"

I think i'm trying too hard. I'm also using my laptops finger pad, i just used the mouse on my dads old computer and it seemed to work much better, but that thing can't run the game. When i get back home with my computer and mouse i'm gonna build a 2,000 foot skyscraper!

The Completely Epic, Indestructible Tower collapsed at 1,011 feet. Bah.

I need to stop playing that now. My eyeballs ache.

Wow, nicely done. I've tried it about 6 times and the best I have done is 1240 feet. What does your base look like?

I just keep doing triangles, because we all know triangles are the basis for all great engineering designs. Best I got was a little over a 1000.

1748 feet. That's enough for me tonight. Starting to see crashing beams when I close my eyes.

I almost failed out of school because of that game. Addicting, and the full version rocks beyond belief. Warez*cough*

Doesn't work too well. Doesn't respond fast enough to my mouse clicks, so they all fall down as soon as I create them.

1348ft on first try. I think I understand it a bit better now so I'll try it again.

1865 feet. Woo hoo! Can't touch timmyquest's height though.

There is a bit of a trick...

Build a single stick exactly straight up...it stands.

OK, that takes all the fun out of it  Here I was trying to build multi-load point base structures. As long as you don't lose your concentration you should be able to stack the single sticks indefinitely. Time for a new game.

57 feet. I have no idea how to play.

Man, I was building complex, intricately-supported structures that collapsed under their own weight long before the wind knocked them over, and such things are bested by a line? Pah.
