As mentioned in my other thread ("What was I thinking???") we registered for the City of Angels Fun Ride (http://www.coafunride.com/index.html) on May 4 to benefit Childrens Hospital Los Angeles Bloodmobile Fund. There are two rides -- the "moderate" 34 recreational ride, and the "difficult" 47-mile advanced ride with more climbing. We chose the recreational ride due to being off the bike and not quite ready for anything described as "advanced".
I'd love to meet some of you locals and ride together. It will be slow by most of our standards (10-12 mph) but with rolling LAPD motor support as we had on the memorial ride in February. It's not often you get to ride with full police escort and never have to stop for a light. It's an experience to savor.
And I need a witness (other than Hubby) to say "Yeh, Jen wasn't kidding.... that's one tough hill!". ;)

Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
