Foo - Scary bike engineering of the day

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Yep, nothing like having the brake cable routed right under the seatpost, where one big hit would drive the seatpost right into it, making the rear brake unusable.

The bracket holding the cable in position looks like it could be bent to either side giving you a little more room.

What makes you think an engineer had anything to do with the design of that bike?

I think if the seatpost goes down far enough to sever the cable you might have other problems to worry about :P
