Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the forums and road biking in general. I recently bought a sunset orange '73 Schwinn Varsity Sport, all original parts and in good condition (got lucky on craigslist :D). Well, I've been riding the heck outta that thing (which was originally for commuting purposes only), and now it's set aside while I gather tools to disassemble it and clean out the bearings and guts in the bottom bracket and rear hub. (There were symptoms of dirt and grime in these areas.)
It's turning out to be quite an adventure, and I've become known as "Chris, that kid with the old Schwinn" to my local bike shop! They've been really helpful, but I'm probably going to have to post specific questions on here as I advance through the project. I'm a do-it-yourselfer, but I'm a newbie at all this, and I'm sure they'll come up. :)
happy to be on here! -chris

Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
