Road Cycling - Trek frames...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Which specific model are you looking for? The shop around here sells OCLV 110, OCLV 120, Y-Foil, and Time Trial frames.

I was always under the impression Trek only allowed in-store sales, but I guess not.

skankaholic - the frameset I was offering is a 1988 54cm Trek 770 that I have yet to refurbish. That is why I was 'tongue-in-check' offering it to you 'in your choice of colors'. If you are seriously interested, send me a PM and we can discuss. I have several different groups I could build it with or sell you just the frameset or frameset and parts and you put together.
As far as sales of new Trek framesets, I ask my local dealer if Trek was still selling framesets and he stated that they are. You can go to any authorized Trek dealer and order/purchase. But, I am unaware of any who sell on-line. It might violate their contract with Trek if they did. That said, Get an issue of Velonews and any of the high-end bicycling magazines (by that I mean the glossy variety that sells for $6 or more). You will find several bike retailers that sell in the back of these magazines that advertise Trek framesets. These ads are easy to recognise as one needs a magnifying glass to read because the print is so small. I don't know if the pricing is good or bad, though. But have seen everything from the 5900 Superlight to the 1000 listed.
Also, check on eBay. People sell Trek framesets on eBay just like they sell any others.

ParamountScapin, Thx for the info... as far as your frame goes, I appreciate the offer but I am looking for a newer frame (2002-2004).
