My wife and I are on a weekend vacation. On our way into Springfield, MO a canadian goose flew about 20 feet in front of my car. The one following it hit my windshield.

So, Fellisa and I are stranded here in Springfield, MO (170 miles from home) probably until Monday when we can get this thing replaced.
I don't know whether to or or

Here's the Flickr Page with some PG-13 words in the notes. (http://flickr.com/photos/kc-bike/2444504956/in/photostream/)

Damn! Glad you are ok, that could have been really bad.

Did you save the critter? Goose is supposed to be pretty tasty. You could make some pate now.

Actually I'm not convinced it was a Canadian goose. In the flicker photo it appears to be duck remnants.

Wow, that's crazy, glad you're ok. I say kick the windshield out and keep driving.

Glad you are okay. Call this place. I always use a mobile service. One time I had a mobile service come to my work and they did it right then and there.

How can you tell a Canadian Goose? They say 'Eh?'.

Glad you are all right, though.

When life hits you in the windshield with a goose, serve pate'!

Hope you both are okay. Have fun at Bass Pro Shops.

EDIT: Dang, gnome beat me to the pate joke.

Ducks, geese, whatever. It was a huge white and black water foul.

didn't feel like keeping it. They don't have a stove at the hotel, and I don't feel like picking glass shards out of my meal.

Awesome!

In Icelandic culture, hitting a ****ing goose mean you will receive 139 days of good luck. You should immediately purchase a lottery ticket.

OK, I have to ask...the geese were ****ing while flying, and 20 feet from each other? Impressive....wing span!

Glad you're both OK, that's a quick way to get hurt.

did the goose survive???

Highly unlikely, but I didn't go back to look. Either it landed in the median between the highways or it kept flying, but my money's on it not surviving.

What's the call of a Canada Goose? Honk, eh?

How do you spell Canada Goose? C eh? N eh? D eh? G-o-o-s-e

I am definitely in favor of eating what you hit, but high fat waterfowl can be sketchy, they are definitely made up of whatever they've been foraging on and sometimes that is nasty stuff residing in their body fat.

Glad you came out OK either way...

I can put a mouse in a beer bottle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-llwCUTdQM), does that make me Canadian?

I can eat loaded cheddar fries with bacon, jalapenos and chives. Is that close enough. (http://www.snuffers.com/menu.aspx)

No, it's the gravy that makes it poutine :D .

yeah thats weak, lucky those windshields are hard to get through. I woulda gone back and kicked the **** out of that goose for incurring windshield replacement fees.

You shoulda checked if it had a spliff in the rolled up part of its maple-leaf toque, thats a dead giveaway for a Canadian goose.

Back when I lived in CA, your insurance co HAD to pay for windshield replacement at no cost to you (Its considered a saftey issue and is state law).

Lucky bro, lucky

Doesn't matter, it's tradition now to blame our 51st state for all our misfortunes.

Songs about it even get nominated for Oscars:
