I participated in this ride today in Winchester, VA. I did the 30-mile ride and really enjoyed it. It was very well supported and they had close to 100 riders participate. I had one rest area on my ride and it was full of Water, Gatorade, Granola Bars, PB&J, and Fruit.
This was my first charity ride and couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Congratulations, Paco! Did you get rained on? I was within 5 miles of "home" when I got good and wet. Still had a good time though. I did the "70 mile" ride which was actually only 67.3. But because of some pretty poorly done cue sheets I tacked on another 5 miles with detours and such. I'm sure they'll get better in the future. This was their first year. A little too much riding on Rt 11 with heavy traffic for my tastes though. Scenery pretty good, moderately hilly with only one real "climb."
No I didn't get rained on. I finished up around 11:45 and met some friends at Applebees when the rain hit, so I missed out on the rain. I think my ride was actually 29.1 by the time I got to my truck.
Fortunately, the 30 miler stayed out of the major traffic out on the outskirts. Next week, I'm going to tackle the Tour de Cure 32 miles, that should be a piece of cake after this ride. It wasn't too bad, but my hybrid isn't the best bike in the world to ride into the wind that was present in the ride to Richards Market.
