I just signed up.

Let me introduce myself. I have been biking for a few years now. I started mountain biking and then moved to road biking a couple of years ago. Don't worry I didn't stop mountain biking. I started road riding as a way to spend time with my wife.
The first year was mainly spent watching her drift off into the horizon. But I have finmally caught up.
We bought a Tandem just recently and are planning on a coupke of tours next summer.

Hello GT and everyone else,

Just joined BF--I've been biking in Chicago for about eight years.
Once my biking passion grew, i gained a better understanding of the equipment needed.
I dumped my first "pig-iron" Fila mountain bike and moved to a lighter frame.
I chose a GT Karakoram with front suspension.
Being 6-3 and 260, i needed some comfort.

It has served me well and kept me out of harms way.
course, it did suffer a direct hit this week by a wayward golfball that came flying over a fence.
it struck my seatpost and bounced off my left leg.

Being that my GT is an old warhorse and not a new "roadbike", i let the golfer live :).

Happy Trails
