Hi, folks.

I've finally loaded up some photos of my unusual vintage bicycle on Flickr:

I know nothing about this bicycle except how to service it and how it works. Any information is appreciated!

Regards.

Wow is that ever beautiful! I love the "Phillips" engraving where the rod brakes meet....
Great find.....How about the story on how you came across it?

Very nice bike. It is fitted with an early dynohub which will either be 12 volts or 8 volts not the 6 volts of the later GH6 hub. What markings are on the rear hub as the wingnuts generally were only used on the sports and racing hubs.

It looks good with the new Brooks and with a new rear tyre should be a nice fun dry weather bike (the brakes probably won't be that effective in the wet).

Not an interesting story - while in grad school in New England, I really fell for British 3 speeds, riding a '73 Phillips around everywhere. I saw this on ebay and bought it - the previous owner didn't know much about it. Sorry for the lack of narrative.

I'll have to check out the hub when I get back to the bike. Anything I should be looking for?

The hub should have some letters and possibly a number stamped onto the barrel. The letters will tell you what model hub is fitted to the bike, eg. AW means a wide ratio three speed A series hub (the traditional three speed hub that was made from c1937 - late 90s).
