Fifty Plus (50+) - I just thought of something!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Now that I have a new person in my life, I don't just have a new girlfriend. Why, I have a new sag wagon as well! (And she drives a Silverado crew cab, to boot!)
Am I a lucky guy or what??? :D

You really don't want to be around when she fills that sucker up
with gas, especially if it's the Long Bed with the 34 gallon tank.
I've got a 35 gallon tank in my Conversion Van....filling it up is
enough to make a grown man cry.

Wow, that's cool! My wife will only sag about twice a year.

Best advice given for 2008 on 50+, so far.:o

Remember the Airstream advertisements with the guy pulling one with a bike. I can just see DG hitched up to the front bumper of that extended cab Silverado. She has to be crying at the pump like I am.

A woman with her own pickup truck! It doesn't get much better than that. You have struck gold. Is it a 4x4 (which can be used to get mountain bikes to remote trails)? Now you must post pics of the truck as well as the driver:D

So how long do you suppose before Digital posts something about buying matching jerseys? We really should have photos too - of the truck of course.
The way gas is going, she'll be riding next to you.

"I just thought of something! "
How many of you also had your minds go "oh! oh!" when you saw that thread title by DG?

Actually, I was kind of jealous when I saw the thread title. It's been years since I've thought of something.

Congratulations and Yip Yip and so forth of course. We all are delighted and enlivened at the news
But in the spirit of 50+ teasing
Have you told her that she features in your life as a sag wagon? And if not yet, when will you?
If you think this might be little premature, I'd counsel you to keep the thought to yourself (apart from sharing the perception with the 5 billion with access to the interweb, who are already discussing the question in 40 languages);)

Funny you ask. I thought about that issue just AFTER hitting "Post." For now, I'm keeping it to myself. But, as you say, the cat's out of the bag. So it may come up sooner than I thought! Gulp. :)

My first thought was "I doubt it". And you might give a little thought to how you use the "sag" word around your new honey.

I do that every week when it cost's me $130 for a fill up.
You lot do not know how lucky you are with your CHEAP Gasoline and Diesel
DG- Do not mention the SAG wagon- Tell her its rider support. Sag on middle aged women has a different conotation-- Unless she is younger than middle aged and then she won't know what sag is.

I prefer not to use "wife" and "sag" in the same sentence. At least not while she's listening!:D

Same sentence? I wouldn't use them in the same house.

My wife is a cyclist, knows that SAG stand for "Support And Gear" and doesn't drive a pick-up! So hey, whatever works is good!

Most romantic thread ever.
There should be a section in Hallmark so you can buy cards for women whose trucks you admire.

Speaking as a woman, I suggest not using the acronym. Just say "Support and Gear" and you'll be safe.:)

From Sheldon Brown:
Sag Wagon
A car or truck that picks up or otherwise assists riders who have had to stop riding, either due to fatigue, injury, or mechanical failure. This is primarily a touring term, racers call the corresponding vehicle the "broom wagon."
Some people believe that the term derives from the verb "sag", others maintain that it is an acronym for "Support And Gear."
