General Cycling Discussion - New Orleanian in Belgium

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

A young man my daughter's age from here in New Orleans is living in Belgium, attending a university and trying his hand at serious bicycle racing. Check out his website:

Rainman,
It looks like Steven is the cyclist and Patrick is the party animal. :D
So when are you being invited to Belgium to watch the races? ;)

This upcoming season will be his first. Better let him find his legs first! I'm thinking maybe summer, 2003.
The Giro d'Italia goes through there next year - might as well make it then.
That is, after it starts here in the Netherlands.:)
Cheers...Gary

I feel sorry for him. Belgium! What a terrible place with such a punny spirit (I come from there btw). Anyway. At least beer is good and there is no legal age to drink it. Hope he makes full use of it.

Puny spirit? I thought Belgium was the Mecca of Cycling! Fromt the pictures Steve put up on his website, it looks like the guys are enjoying themselves. But make no mistake, Steven has the desire and the credentials to do what it takes to make a go of it. Time will tell whether it comes to pass.

Admitedly, Parts of Belgium are actually good for cycling (esp the North of the country in University towns): it is flat and there are a lot of bikes. it depends where.
