I've gone through so many pairs of glasses, it's rather strange really. But the problem is, that I habitually bend the frame and adjust the glasses for a tighter fit despite my head already being quite wide. This "adjustment" basically means that I go through pairs of glasses quite quickly (usually in a few months). I don't know if I'm genuinely uncomfortable with the glasses or just do it out of habit. I want a tight fit so the glasses don't slip around my face, but at the same time, this strains my glasses since I have a wide face.

What should I do? I would prefer staying away from contacts.

I believe they make some pretty much indestructable metal frames, though not in many styles I would assume. http://www.eyeglass.com/products-frames-bendable.html I do think two monacles would be pimp.

Get some titanium frames made in France of all places. I just looked at my current frames and can't even find the logo on them any longer. They have been through much hell.

I never broke any, but they always got bent out of shape, and I spent forever trying to get them bent back. I got some relatively nice plastic frames last time, and I've never been happier. They fit perfectly, are level (not being such annoys the hell out of me), and don't have fiddly nose-pad arms. I have a pretty big head as well, for what it's worth.

Shop for glasses at a place that fits them properly to your face?
