I'm burning up here in SoCal. I've shed most my clothes, but it's not helping. ARGH ARGH ARGH.

This is why I live in Puget Sound...I don't like heat.

One of East Hill's favourite sayings:

"You can always put more clothes on if you're cold, but there does come a point when you just can't take off any more clothes".

True true. Wise words. Even a dip in my pool and the subsequent shower didn't help, so *sigh*

Methinks snowcones are in order.

Quit complaining. It snowed here yesterday. I want 97 degree temps.

edit: 97 is way too hot. I could never live in SoCal.

I seriously prefer snow to extreme heat, see East Hill's comment above why. I've lived in both extremely snowy and extremely hot climates, and I really miss the snow. Traveling around is a ***** in snow, but at least you know you won't die of heat stroke.

Cold doesn't bother me...

HEat kind of does...

year round riding in the heat...

6months of riding in the north...

no contest.

Not for me though, I really can't stand this much heat. I read about other SoCal folks riding in this weather and I think they're pretty crazy.

We have leftover snow on the ground from the storm last weekend, but I was still out in shorts today & have a soccer game later.

I'd take my weather over really hot any day.

97 is pretty tame for SoCal, but like anywhere...you become acclimated.

I remember working on a tar and gravel rooftop in SoCal in 128 degree heat. The tar was like grease and the breeze felt like you'd opened the oven.

Here 97 is a heatwave, but most Summer days it's in the 80's.

I knew someone was going to say this!

Today was 75 to 80 degrees, and yesterday was, and tomorrow will be. Perfection is never boring... You all are so uncivilized up there. :p

Have you considered living in the PNW after college? Portland is a great place to ride a bike. :)

That'd be nice! Snow! Or upstate to NorCal, at least.

@crtreedude: I miss the tropics when it gets this hot up here. T'was humid, yes, but not as hot and not as dehydrating.

I live in Norcal and the rainy season just ended (we hope). I like biking in warm weather and when I get my rain gear I'll ride more in the rain.

What I Don't like is riding in the wind while riding on the Avenue of the Giants, those redwood limbs that come out of the trees are bigger than ANY east coast tree. ;)

No pics... And cause it was so warm today, hopefully the snow will be gone tomorrow.

Plus, the "babe" part is just to get you guys all riled up. This is the internet after all - who knows what I look like. :D

She's a Canadian girl who rides a fixed gear... of course she's good looking.

:)

We're on our way to seeing 64 F which is almost too warm for me and I might be shedding a few layers... bystanders will be reminded to wear a welding visor to cut the glare even though I still have the remnants of last year's cycling tan.

Not fixed yet - still getting used to the bike - maybe in a month or so.

I overdressed for the ride in today too - I layered, so the ride home should be fine.
